Below we walk you through the history of E. Luke Greene Company Inc.
We also went through a stock realignment to make E. Luke Greene Company, Inc. a 51% woman-owned business. We are certified as a woman-owned business in Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina. In 2006, we opened an operations office in the Greenville/Spartanburg, South Carolina area.
We have current licenses and are able to perform work in the states of Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, West Virginia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Ohio, and Indiana.
In 2012, fifty (50) years after the company was established, Luke’s son, Calvin L. Greene, having thirty (30) years of experience in residential and commercial construction began as an active member of our team as Vice President of Operations.
Company Incorporated was established by E. Luke Greene in 1962 in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, as E. Luke Greene Caulking and Waterproofing. As the business grew, it was incorporated in 1973 as E. Luke Greene Company, Inc.
In 1983, a satellite operations office was opened in Johnson City, Tennessee and the Asbestos and Demolition Divisions were started. In 1996, a Roll-Off Division was founded to serve the in-house demolition projects, as well as contract out to users in the Eastern Tennessee, Western North Carolina, and Southwestern Virginia areas. In 1998, a Concrete Sawing and Drilling Division was opened in the Johnson City, Tennessee location to serve both in-house projects and outside contractors.
In 2003, E. Luke Greene Company, Inc. purchased Demolition Engineering Services, and expanded the business to include another operations office in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 2004, the Johnson City, Tennessee office opened a Mold and Duct Cleaning Division to support the needs of clients in our operation area. In 2005, an operations office was opened in the Roanoke, Virginia market.
